Governors
Dear Parents / Carers and Friends
I am delighted to be a member of the governing body for Morecambe Bay Community Primary School and proud to be the Chair of Governors.
The job of governors is to provide strategic leadership and robust accountability for the educational and financial performance of the school, safeguarding of the children, premises management and staff appointments. In short, we are here to be as supportive as possible of the school community and to ensure all the children achieve the very best possible outcomes. In our school we all need to have high expectations and take a great interest in each child’s learning and development. To work together to ensure the children are happy, resilient, fulfilled and become proud members of the school community, finding joy in their learning and getting along with others.
The governing body has a responsibility to engage with parents and carers and we are keen to listen to your views. We want to continue having a sense of shared ownership with you and to respond positively and sensitively to your views in the best interests of your children. We meet at least once a term as a full governing body and have a number of committees to address different aspects of the school’s work.
More information about governors and who we are can be found on the school website. Governors are members of the public who volunteer to take on the unpaid role; recruited for their knowledge, skills, experience and commitment to work together to support the Headteacher and all the staff to make Morecambe Bay an outstanding school where the children flourish and are prepared for their future. If you want more information about governors you can go to www.nga.org.uk or visit the Lancashire County Council website: Lancashire County Council.
Should you wish to contact me to discuss any matter further I can be reached via the school office office@morecambebay.lancs.sch.uk.
I look forward to meeting you throughout the school year, both in school and out in the community.
