Foundation Stage

Welcome to all our children, to our new starters and those who have made the transition to Nursery or from Nursery into Reception. So far the transition has been really positive and all the children are settling into the new rules and routines well.

We have some very exciting topics planned for the Foundation Stage Unit, these are:

• Me & You
• Goldilocks and the Three Bears
• Three Little Pigs
• Gingerbread Man
• Whole School Topic – Around the World (Jamaica)

PE

In Reception we have PE on Monday mornings and the children are expected to come to school in their PE kits, bringing their School uniform to change into after the lesson.

Baking

We generally do baking activities every week and children are asked to bring 50p a week or £4 for the half term.

Reading

We encourage reading at home every night as this is very beneficial to your child’s progress.

We have also got a new Reading Club on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays from 3:10-3:30 which parents can sign up to come along and share their reading experience and gain positive advice towards supporting children to read.

Tuck Shop

Children can also bring 20p a day for Tuck Shop.

Clothing

Please, can you also make sure any clothing is clearly named.

Home time

If for any reason a person other than yourself will be collecting your child at the end of the school day please let the school office or class teacher know. Our priority is ensuring the safety of our children.
